Brotherhood Father, Son, Grandson Fellowship and Luncheon

After many weeks of careful planning, praying, promoting, propelling, and persevering, the Male Chorus, spearheaded by President Dea. Herbert Kellum and Brotherhood President, Dea. Barry Stephens, the Brotherhood’s Father, Son, Grandson Fellowship and Luncheon happened!! Praise God!
On April 26, 2025, the event was held at 9:00 A.M., in the Multipurpose Building at Abiding Faith. A delicious and filling lunch was prepared the Men of Faith, with limited assistance from spouses.

Deacon Kellum expressed an absolute truth in stating the purpose of this fellowship— “There is never a time for fathers of any age with young boys, to relax, leaving the children’s educational, physical and spiritual welfare to mothers and grandparents. Such decisions have lifelong consequences, especially on boys and young men as they grow into adulthood, navigating their way through life without godly direction.”

Attendance of approximately forty-five participants, represented generations of males both young and older, fathers, grandfathers, sons, perhaps even great-grandfathers—BRM, to include a few. The young men were a welcome sight!!
The purpose of this event, explains, Dea. Herbert Kellum, visioner, is “to give God thanks for what He has done and to seek His guidance as we embark on new opportunities to bring together and connect our generations.” And to direct[ds1] and strengthen our responsible father, grandfather, great grandfather, etc., population to know Him; or to seek to know God; or those who already know Him, to seek a deeper relationship with Him, and to follow His precepts as we mentor and direct our young men to a godly lifestyle.”

The program included speakers representing our Ministerial Staff at Abiding Faith. Their faith-related topics included Rev. Lenton Hymes, The Family: “What You Can Learn from the BADDEST Boy in the Bible ~ The Samsom Syndrome”, Rev. Dennis Blacknall spoke on “Spiritual Vision”; Rev. Booker T. Canty, Jr., spoke on “All My Children”, and Rev. Robert H. Morgan’s expounded on “Coming Together to Protect our Children’s Future”, “Education/Wisdom”, Rev. Larry Williams. “Health Tidbits” were also topics were represented in the written program.

This platform provided an avenue to connect and share experiences and faiths with each other, on how to be better men of faith, husbands, sons, grandsons, friends, and neighbors, etc.
The general consensus, including our Pastor, was that the event was very well received, provided good and relevant information, and was enjoyed by all. Until next year. . .
